It definitely won't work with either 70-200 RF lens. I've seen this at a number of reputable sources. The B&H page for the RF 2x extender has the following for compatibility: RF 100-400 RF 100-500 (only works 300-500, so you have to keep the lens partially extended while using it effectively making it 600-1000) RF 400 f2.8 RF 600 f4Buy the Canon EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM. The lens is compatible with both the Canon Extender 1.4x and the Canon Extender 2x. including the very sharp 24-70 f2.8 Mkii, 70-200 f4 IS and the 135 f2. Using the EF 2x III Extender on the popular EF 135mm f/2 USM lens, I noticed that the 'negative aspects' of the lens were magnified. Specifically Chromatic Aberration. Note that this is a property of the lens and NOT the Extender.
